At Castleview we celebrate difference. This is key in our values – Respect, Honesty, Kindness and Joy.
Neurodiversity describes the range of differences in individual brain function and behavioural traits. This includes Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delay and a variety of other conditions/situations.
At Castleview we understand all our learners are different and some of these differences can be a barrier to learning. Anything that is a barrier to learning is an additional support need. At Castleview we have a number of universal measures in place to support the inclusion of all our learners these include the use of class visual timetables, engagement scales and the decluttered environment.
At Castleview we also work with a variety of partners including parents and carers, health professionals and social work to identify additional support needs and for some learners put targeted supports in place to allow the child to thrive.
