Homework Support
In The Den we will provide you with three pieces of Homework per week, Literacy Numeracy and Emotional regulation. If you are finding Homework at home tricky, don’t worry, we will support your child in school. If your child would prefer to do their homework on a tablet or phone you can email it to me at: Fiona.Jayne.1.Taylor@castleview.edin.sch.uk
Literacy:
In literacy each week your child will be given a different sound.
Look around the house to find 5 objects that begin with that sound, your child will draw these objects into their jotter, and then practice writing the letter in lower and uppercase writing.
In numeracy we will be focusing on skip counting. At home you can help with this by encouraging your child to skip count out loud once they have finished their written task. Some children will find this more difficult than others, but practice will support them at school.
Follow this simple video to help your child with their Numeracy tasks:
Emotional Regulation: this Term we are focusing on emotion talks
Here are some simple prompts you can use to support your child to think of ideas in their emotions talks homework: Ask your child to draw a picture in each box, and then talk through what happened with them, they do not need to write in the boxes unless they want to. There is a video at the bottom of the page.
