  • Exploring Music & Creativity at Craigmillar Library with Tinderbox

Primary 7 enjoyed a creative visit to Craigmillar Library to take part in a music workshop with the Tinderbox Collective. Pupils explored a range of instruments, learned how the library’s instrument lending scheme works, and even tried composing short pieces together. It was a brilliant opportunity to discover how music, creativity and community come together. One pupil in particular loved playing the keyboard and so we brought it back to the classroom with us!

  • P7b Highlight from this week

It’s been lovely to see P7b back after the October break, refreshed and ready to learn. Our highlight this week was writing, as pupils worked hard on their entries for this year’s Green Pencil Award around the theme of weather. We already have some fantastic pieces taking shape!

  • P7 Coffee Morning

P7 did a fantastic job organising the Macmillan Coffee Morning, planning the event and helping raise money for cancer support. The pupils showed great teamwork and generosity, making a real difference in the community.

  • Resilience – Bright Side

As part of our Bright Side resilience work, P7a got creative with sock puppets! The pupils used their puppets to explore feelings, teamwork, and problem-solving, learning how to stay positive and resilient in a fun and imaginative way. We also set up our very own Appreciation Station! The pupils have been sharing kind messages, celebrating each other’s strengths, and spreading positivity around the classroom as part of our focus on wellbeing and resilience.

  • Week 1 Teambuilding

P7a have had a fantastic first week, focusing on team-building activities and settling in to Primary 7. The class have been working together, getting to know each other, and starting the year with a positive and enthusiastic start!

  • P7 Prom 2025

  • P7B Trip to Heriot Watt with RedSTART

We enjoyed a fantastic trip to Heriot Watt last week with the charity RedSTART. The class were taught to budget money via a range of games and challenges and they had a fantastic time!
