P3a were learning about possessive apostrophes this morning. We went outside and used some chalk to correct our sentences.

Miss White and Miss Palmer were impressed with P3’s super team work and learning, well done!

This week, P3a have been learning about symmetry. So we went outside to find some symmetry in the playground. We even tried to make our own symmetrical patterns 😃

Scots Week and Health and Wellbeing

Posted on Updated on

January has flown by so fast in P3a and we’ve been working very hard. Here is a quick update to show you what we’ve been learning.

We started off the year by making personal targets, we’re going to review these soon to see how we are getting on.

We did all sorts of exciting work for Scots week.

We learnt how to dance the Military Two Step and Haymakers Jig with Ms Martin and then we invited our parents/carers to see these at our Ceilidh. So many of our parents/caters joined in and we had a great time!

We learnt all about the Scottish artist Steven Brown and recreated his famous painting “Rab McCoo” in class.

We read the Gruffalo in Scots and then created a Wanted poster for the Gruffalo using the vocabulary we learnt.

We tasted some Scottish food in class and found out where it all came from. Most of us enjoyed the oatcakes, shortbread and tattie scones, but some of us weren’t so keen on the Orkney cheese or Dundee marmalade 🙈

We even learnt a Scottish song called “Bananas are the Best” and we performed it at assembly.

This afternoon, we invited our parents and careers along to see what we do in school to help us understand SHANARRI. They helped us complete some activities about our Health and Wellbeing -so thank you to everybody who came along 😃
