We all hope for a good summer to enjoy the outdoors in Scotland, regardless of what our often variable weather brings. This is a significant year for Scotland with events such as the Commonwealth Games, War Commemorations and the Ryder Cup all taking place. It is important that we remember to stay safe this summer, as in any year. Information and guidance available on the NHS Inform website is available to help people to be ready and prepared for a Safe Summer in Scotland. This website highlights key summer messages and web links including Heat and Sun Safety; Outdoor Hazards; Food Safety; Animal Attraction Visit Safety; and Travel advice, with the aim of reducing the risks of illness and injury to those living in and visiting Scotland this summer.
Bikeability Edinburgh is now offering special summer holiday cycling sessions.
Based on Bikeability Scotland skills and competences, we are holding 3 levels of fun filled cycle training sessions throughout East Edinburgh. Please contact us if you would like more information or to ask about us running a session run in your local area.
Not only do these sessions represent excellent value for money, they are an ideal way to improve your child’s cycling skills and confidence (whether or not they do Bikeability in school) or maybe even turn you non cycling child into a cyclist! As such, we expect high demand for these sessions so please book early to avoid disappointment.

P2B decorated eggs then rolled them in the playground to celebrate the end of our ‘Easter Traditions’ topic!
Meet Primary 2!
Since starting Primary 2 we have been very busy learning about lots of new things.
We have just been learning all about ‘Our Community’. We wrote letters to people who work in our community including doctors, police officers, dentists, vets, fire officers and paramedics. We have had a few responses and will hopefully receive more! We went on a walk around our community to take a closer look at the important places in the community that we usually take for granted.
Castleview Clock Shop
Last term we worked really hard on opening up our very own ‘Castleview Clock Shop’. We made lots of different kinds of clocks and baked cakes to sell in our Clock Shop Cafe. We invited parents and carers in to look round our shop and we were so pleased at how many people came in to support us – thank you to all those who came. We made a TV advert to tell people about the different clocks we had been learning about – it is on our school YouTube page – click the link below to watch it!
