P7b had a great time researching and debating on whether it is appropriate that white historical figures are played by people of colour in order to ensure racial diversity in the film industry. Linking in with our recent topic on Mary Queen of Scots, and our current work in preparing for the Junior Tour Guides, we learned about the roles that black people had in 16th Century Britain, how the film industry uses ‘colour-blind casting’, and how to conduct a debate. Look at our Powerpoint presentation to see what we did.
