This week we launched our final Building Resilience unit. This unit is called ‘Expect the Unexpected’. In this unit, we explore how we cannot protect ourselves from change (no matter how much we would like to) as it is part of life. Sometimes change can be a positive experience and sometimes it brings with it, disappointments, difficulties or loss. In this unit we will be learning that:
– Change is a part of life
– It’s ok not to be ok
– I have learnt ways to look after my mental health
We will reflect on the 10 tools we have been learning about over the past three years. We know how to look after our physical health by doing things like brushing our teeth, excercising and trying to make healthy food choices. However, we must also ensure we are looking after our minds. The ten tools we have been learning about help us do just that. We should practise using these tools regularly.
It is a relevant week to launch our final unit of Building Resilience as this week is Mental Health awareness week. The theme for 2019 is body image – how we think and feel about our bodies. This links to our ‘Respect Yourself’ unit.
