Day: December 2, 2016
The children and parents/carers had a great time at our Activity Session making Christmas tree decorations, calendars and chocolate truffles. We look forward to the next Activity Session!
Primary 4 were very busy making Playdough and beautiful gift tags for the Christmas Fair. We were set a challenge to “Grow a Fiver”, where we had to buy resources for £5 and then make as much as we could.
We are taking part in Thistle Foundation’s Santa Walk on 14th December and have decided to give our profits to the Thistle Foundation. Well done to our P4 pupils for making and selling our fantastic items!
P4 went on a wonderful trip to the National Museum of Scotland as part of our current topic learning about The Romans.
We looked at Roman artefacts and discussed how they give us clues about the way the Romans lived. We got to see the treasure from Traprain Law and couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. We really enjoyed seeing a part of the Antonine Wall and used our detective skills to find out what was happening in the pictures.
We also visited the Fashion and Design exhibition and enjoyed seeing all the fashion through the decades. Some of the shoes looked very uncomfortable!
Mrs Dutton was delighted when a member of the public complimented the class on being so well behaved in the museum. Thank you to our parent helpers for supporting our trip we are very grateful.
